TOPIA RETREAT, WHERE NATURE MEETS NURTURE

FAQ's AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION

HOW CAN I TRAVEL TO BAJA RESPONSABLY?

1. No Single Use Plastics

Topia Retreat does our best to be a plastic free zone, we are committed to keeping plastic off our property and out of landfills. We want to ask you to help us by not bringing any single use plastics with you. We do not sell or offer any single use plastic on the property. Guests are asked to bring reusable water bottles, and we also provide guests with reusable water bottles for the filtered water throughout the property.

2. Leave Extra Waste At Home

We are very aware of the impact unintentional waste management can have and intend to make disposal a part of the Topia experience in order to educate our guests. We want you to pack with intention. If you have new items you are bringing with you on your trip please leave the tags and any packaging at home (where you can hopefully re/upcycle it.) We like to use and celebrate locally made craft amenities at Topia included in your stay is shampoo, soap, conditioner, etc. so you can leave all those little plastic bottles at home or better yet donate them. Lighten your load, only pack multi-purpose clothing. And always remember traveling responsibly doesn’t mean giving anything up. It means appreciating the place you are visiting and acting in a way that ensures it is taken care of for the community that lives there and future generations.

**This is also important to keep in mind when considering bring gift bags or goodies for your guests.**

DO I NEED A CAR??

There are 2 answers to this question:
Joining us for a retreat? The answer is No. We do not recommend renting a car for the duration of your stay. The retreat is in a small coastal town with limited parking. There is access to private transport, or limited ride share services, it’s more environmentally conscious to travel in groups.

Renting a room? The answer is Yes. You don’t have to have one, but we think it will add value to your stay with us.Location:We are located in the Gavilan neighborhood of El Pescadero. Google Maps will bring you right to us! Please make sure the app is on your phone before you arrive

CURRENCY: WHERE DO I GET CASH?

We recommend getting Pesos at the airport cash machine if possible upon arrival in Cabo. Please note there is not a cash machine in Pescadero, there are two in Todos Santos. Most shops and restaurants are taking cards now, but vendors and stands/kiosks do not.

TIPS/GRATUITY

Tips for services rendered are very much appreciated by Topia’s hardworking team! At the end of your retreat, you may leave a cash tip in at checkout. All tips will be pooled and divided evenly among our staff who work in the kitchen, garden, office, and housekeeping departments and do not include massage, transportation or any other 3rd party services.
As a guide, may we suggest a tip of $20 day per guest (400 pesos). So if your stay is for 5 days a suggested tip amount would be $100 (2000 pesos). Please note that we only accept cash tips. We are unable to process tips through your credit card.
